The ECO 4 & GBIS (Great British Insulation Scheme), BUS (Boiler Upgrade Scheme) and HUG (Home Upgrade Scheme) are helping Chilton home owners and tenants to reduce their heating bills, carbon footprint and upgrade their homes via government backed / OFGEM administered funding streams. It is also helping Landlords to improve their EPC to C for free, before they are forced to at their own cost.
Free Cavity Wall insulation, Loft Insulation, Old / First Time Boiler Upgrades, Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar PV, Smart Heating Controls and other energy efficiency improvements are being provided to homes across Chilton. The schemes are prioritising households who are most vulnerable, have health issues or who already receive financial assistance from the government, ensuring that those who need it the most are able to access it. This forms part of the government’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero 2050 initiative.

To qualify for the funding specific criteria must be met, there are 6 main ways to qualify.
These include:
1. Being awarded Benefits or Credits (from DWP)
2. Receiving Child Benefit
3. Low income (Under £31,000 or in some cases £34,000)
4. Based on being Vulnerable, Pregnant, having a child under age 5, having debts, being over age 65 (ECO4 Flex)
5. Health Conditions (such as asthma, COPD, lung cancer and arthritis, who are more likely to be affected by the cold)
6. Living in a Bespoke targeting area
